New Trainers Workshop ~ Program Description:
This two day session is designed to provide training in the T.A.P.S. framework of programming. The T.A.P.S. curriculum is a systematic approach to dealing with aggressive/hostile clients. This workshop will equip each participant to become certified instructors, capable of training and certifying the staff at their agency of employment. The training will cover the basic program, dealing with weapons, class administration skills, teaching techniques, and crisis team theory. Theory and direct application will be stressed in the program. Participants should come prepared to assume the role of teacher/trainer on the second day of activities. Anyone attending is encouraged to wear comfortable, lose fitting clothes, as the physical exercise may be strenuous. Enrolled individuals attending must also be aware that they will be required to meet training standards before being awarded their trainer certificates. Anyone unable to perform to our training standards will not be certified. Trainer candidates should be healthy and reasonably fit. Anyone with heart or respiratory illnesses, back problems or other medical conditions should not enroll for training.
